This year’s marque event will feature a “Tribute To Open Top Motoring “ celebrating the vintage and classic roadsters and spiders which will be on public display amongst the 250 Alfa Romeo’s expected to turn out  for this increasing popular public event. The gates will open at 9 am with judging at 11am including a Wash and Shine award.

For those Australians who saw The Graduate movie back in 1968 ,will always relate this film’s simultaneous and successful launch of Dustin Hoffman,s acting career together with the boost to Simon & Garfunkel’s profile due to their famous songs and music (especially Mrs Robinson) featuring throughout the film, and Alfa Romeo’s successful launch of the new shaped Pininfarina-bodied 1966 Duetto 1600 Spider, both at the 1966 Turin Motor Show and in The Graduate where the young graduate (Hoffman) was given a 1966 Spider by his Father as a graduation present.

This film has been ranked Number 7 of the top 100 movies over 100 years and now treated as a classic of its time. The same classic label applies to the 1966 Spider where its “ Duetto “name was selected from a public naming competition that simply reflected the Spider’s ‘twin-cam and two seats” features. The winner received one the first Duetto Spiders produced.
