John Elliott Joins Dick Smith’s Population Debate

by John Elliott on August 9th, 2010

The ABC have invited John Elliott to join the one hour live debate on population this Thursday evening following the screening of the first episode of Dick Smiths inspired documentary “Dick Smith’s Population Puzzle”.

The panel will be chaired by Q&A’s Tony Jones in front of a live audience where they will debate and answer questions on Smith’s key issues and predictions. No doubt the politicians will be careful in dealing with this controversial topic as it relates to immigration and refugees, issues high on voters agendas.

Also joining the debate will be well known climate change and population control advocate Tim Flannery, Immigration Ministers from both sides of politics and Nikki Williams, chief executive of the Mineral Council of NSW.

This debate should be informative and entertaining viewing. Dick Smith who supports population controls as will the political panel members will meet opposition from John Elliott, a supporter of population growth. It is expected the Mining representative will also support growth to overcome skill shortages facing the mining sector.

I applaud your appearance on the QandA debate. It think Tony Jones hower performed in his usual disgusting way. While I don’t entirely agree with unlimited expansion of population, I think you were the only one on the panel with enough courage to express what impact the current immigration policies have on MY tax dollars. If immigrants can contribute, thats excellent, however the bulk are coming here for a free ride.

I think it was very gracious of you to preclude yourself from any further debate on the issue John, you must have realised that you were way out of your depth.
    My kindest thanks,
    Al

This debate is twenty years to late. Unfortunately nothing can be done.
Our tax is feeding them better then we care for our children.
Slavery, cheap labor exists in our system and politicians are talking nonsense.
We are allowing same philosophy from middle eastern societies to overwhelm and take over our social structure which served us well.
Politicians are asking for trouble. They can not solve simple ideals, but ‘can’ solve over population?
In the future, my glass of water will be in position of ten others?
Where are we going. Already my showers are cut to ten min.
Whats next? Dog food stir fry?

Our elastrious liders sugest population growth by iligal emigrants?
    How absurd.
Yet our candidats are as yet to tell us that our children need to be prepeared
for future, which they are not, but are left to their own stile of life of drinking to stupifiction, raping and pilaging with out paying the sonsecwence of their action. Being neglected. By perants who are to busy, and governament who are taking pity on over populated and themselves filed with arogance countrys. Are we going to be same in near future?
    But what about US? NOW.

    Population explosion!
Bob Hawke started it all. In a moment of unjustified compassion during the Tianamen massacre (crying on TV), over 40,000 Chinese students were given PR. Then the family reunions arrives, Medicare, centrelink, etc.etc. What a wonderful country! ” Come over “.

Then John Howard’s overseas students skilled shortage money-spinner.
Indians /Chinese and other students, studying acccountancy, hairdressing, hospitality, after 4 yrs are able to apply for PR. No one intended to practise in the course they study. After PR, Medicare and Centerlink again. And….?, a second wave of family reunions. Wonderful country!

Then Peter Costello – one baby for mum, one for dad & one for the country. Baby Bonu$$$. Yeehaa!!
Letters, emails, chatrooms, blogs are all over the world. Come to Australia! You make baby, we give you $ Aus 5000. We give you childcare. We will look after your children till schoolage & beyond.

Suddenly, every suburb and mall has people pushing prams and sipping coffee. So trendy to have a baby.

All this money could have build the train lines on the NW & SW or maybe a second Sydney airport or any infrastructure towards the sustainability of the country.

    But NO!
People are selfish, greedy. Not in my backyard! Backwards in mentality & in denial. Keep on breeding! Your grandchildren will fight for water & food in the coming future.

    regards,
    tzu

All able boat people should be put in the Australia army, and give them intensive training for six months then send them to Afghanistan to fight along side our Australian troops for twelve months and if they do this then they should be able to become Australian and settle in Australia two birds one stone. And to send a message to the Indonesians they should jail the boats crew for the same period of time that they gave Schapelle Corby who they say smuggled drugs into there country well these are no different so give them the same time in prison as they would give us . Cheers Jimbo
