John Elliott’s Business Life – Episode 1 “Henry Jones Takeover”

by John Elliott on July 7th, 2011

This week John recalls how in 1972, he formed a consortium and gained their financial backing to initiate the successful takeover of Henry Jones IXL Ltd, the Tasmanian based jam maker. Once he gained control, John started hiring his new Henry Jones senior management team.

In addition to the film recording below, we have been fortunate in obtaining from The Henry Jones Art Hotel history archives some rare photos of Henry Jones in his early jam making days and later in life as Sir Henry Jones (knighted 1919) The other photo shows how the original Henry Jones Hobart jam factory and head office has been successfully restored and retained as world class hotel.
