by John Elliott on December 3rd, 2010

Dayle Bolton, the well known Melbourne illustrator and artist, recently released her 2010 “Kaleidoscope” collection at an exhibition in Libby Edwards Galleries, 1046 High Street Armadale. Dayle has exhibited her artworks exclusively since 2004 at this high profile High Street Gallery and this years collection continues her previous eclectic and quirky themes which have proved popular with modern art collectors.

Dayle graduated from RMIT in 1972 and after winning The Myer Award for Illustration  she undertook freelance illustration assignments with international and national magazines and retailers. When she was working in London in the 1970’s Dayle had Vogue display full page advertisements using her illustrations where these were later sold as limited edition prints. Her London Vogue illustration success was the catalyst for pursuing her artistic endeavours where she has developed a niche market in Australia.

She now paints in her St Kilda studio and this years collection reflects her passion for ballet and the seaside, having lived in  Melbourne’s popular beach-side suburbs for most of her life.

Hi Dayle, When I had a shop I used to stock greeting cards with your images. Can you let me know where they are available now please? I sold my shop about nine years ago but have kept a favourite card called “Best View” , a labrador on a striped deck chair looking through a window to the sea. I feel there were a couple of others which were in the same style. We have a little beach cottage now and I am intending to frame this little image, but if there were others I might do a cluster of Dayle Boltons. Please let me know. I am in Brighton East. Kind Regards, Joy Molina
