Victorian Jockey Kim Noble Wins Moonee Valley Arabian Horse Race

At the recent Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival held at Moonee Valley, Kim Noble the Victorian owner and jockey of Warrawee Naaziq won the 2040 metre H.H Sheik Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nayhan Cup. This was a family triumph as Kim’s husband was also the trainer.

Moonee Valley Hosts Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nayhan’s Global Arabian Horse Festival Races

Under the kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nayhan’s Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, two races for purebred Arabian horses were run last Friday at Moonee Valley. There was a big crowd there as Black Caviar was running in the Essendon Mazda Australia Stakes that night to score her 17th consecutive win.

Carlton Football Players Revisit Lygon Street Support Base

Yesterday Chris Judd and other Carlton players made a long overdue return to Lygon Street Carlton, much to the pleasure of a large number of Blues fans who turned to welcome their walk down this well known Carlton precinct which has long been associated with The Blues.

Oaks Day Special – Richard Cranium One To Watch

Spring Carnival Preview – Richard Cranium One To Watch

Our racing correspondent was at a NSW regional race track recently and was impressed with a young colt called Richard Cranium who put in a strong run at the finishing line. With the Spring Carnival not far away, this colt is definitely one to watch which you can do by watching the last 300 metres run home on the video below.

John Elliott & John Kennedy Snr At Old Carey’s 1961 Premiership Reunion

Last Saturday was a big day for the Old Carey 1961 E Grade Premiership players who attended a special pre-game luncheon at “Cookie’s Kitchen”. The John Elliott film crew were there and recorded various speeches and took photos of past players/officials who came along to celebrate this important event. Michael Cooke firstly introduced John Elliott, ruck rover in the 1961 side.

John Elliott & Old Carey’s 1961 E Grade Football Premiership Team

Given John’s busy media commitments on Fosters this week, he has asked yours truly, Percy, as the JDER Website Sports Editor to remind all the Old Carey supporters and viewers about the big 50th reunion on Saturday 25th June for the 1961 Panthers Premiership team. John that year won the clubs best and fairest as a robust ruck-rover and according to him, and others, he displayed his normal aggressive style on grand final day.

John Elliott’s Old Carey Football Club Preview

Tomorrow the confident Panthers, after a sound win against traditional rivals Old Xavierans the week before, meet University Blues at Parkville where a win will keep them in the four. According to Cookie, the team has been training well over the extended break and their new recruits have settled in well which should see the Panthers retaining their top four position by the seasons end.
