Four Decades After Cleo Magazine Launch It Cracks The Million Again

The highly successful launch of Cleo magazine in 1972 saw its readership rapidly pass the million people mark.  Almost 40 years later this was reprised in a different medium, with a reported 1.295 million people watching Sunday night’s ABC TV story of Cleo’s launch (Paper Giants: the Birth of Cleo) followed by 1.207 million for Monday night’s finale.

Economic Issues (20%) Top Electors Expectations of Government

Economic Issues (20%, up 6% since June 25-28, 2010), is the most important issue that the Federal Government could address that would most benefit electors and their families according to a special telephone Morgan Poll conducted over two nights (July 20/21, 2010).

Health (18%, unchanged) ranks as the next highest concern ahead of Social Welfare and Social Issues (16%, up 1%) and Taxation (14%, down 11%).

No ‘Honeymoon’ for Gillard

On June 25-28 2010, the four days immediately following Julia Gillard’s swearing in as Australia’s new Prime Minister, support for the L-NP is 51.5% (up 4.5% since the Face-to-Face Morgan Poll conducted June 19/20, 2010) ahead of the ALP 48.5%, (down 4.5%) according to this week’s special telephone Morgan Poll.

If a Federal Election were held today the L-NP would have won a close election to defeat the ALP according to the Morgan Poll.

Election Race Closes Again – Gary Morgan Surveys

In mid June support for the ALP is 51.5% (down 0.5%) since the last Face-to-Face Morgan Poll conducted on June 5/6, 2010), just ahead of the L-NP 48.5%, (up 0.5%) according to this week’s Face-to-Face Morgan Poll conducted last weekend, June 12/13, 2010.
